Weekends at the BOO!seum scare up fun
Costume parades, the Monster Mash, spooky science and more this October
CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) is scaring up fun this October. From dance parties and costume parades, to creepy crawlies and levitating pumpkins, Weekends at the BOO!seum are frighteningly fun.
CMC knows when October hits, little ghouls and goblins are howling for the chance to show off their costume. That’s why the museum is giving you a pumpkin-shaped bucketful of reasons to put on your costume and strut your spooky stuff. Join weekend costume parades in The Children’s Museum at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. You can also do the Monster Mash during dance parties, participate in eerie art activities in KidSPACE and listen and sing along during fall-themed story times.
Visit the Museum of Natural History & Science to see bats and snakes up close and personal as the museum unmasks the often-misunderstood animals. Experience levitating pumpkins, boo bubbles and more during hair-raising shows on the Austin E. Knowlton Foundation Science Stage. The Cincinnati History Museum’s History in the Making Classroom will introduce you to historic printmaking with a Halloween-themed print you can take with you and the old time apothecary on The Public Landing will introduce you to herbs and other plants used for a variety of medicinal, culinary, cosmetic and possibly witchy purposes.
While there won’t be any trick-or-treating, there will be plenty of themed treats available for purchase. And, of course, plenty of tricks courtesy of science.
Weekends at the BOO!seum are October 12 & 13, 19 & 20, 26 & 27 and on Halloween itself. All activities are included with Museum Admission and free for CMC Members.
